I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer –Knowledge Assessed


  Certified Professional Dog Trainer-Knowledge Assessed (CPDT-KA) measures a broad range of knowledge and skills in ethology, learning theory, dog training technique, and instruction. To be eligible for the examination, you have to: √ A minimum of 300 hours’ experience in dog training within the last 3 years. √ Provide a signed attestation statement from a CCPDT certificant or a veterinarian √ Sign and file our Code of Ethics The CPDT-KA exam consists of 250 multiple-choice questions. The exam is given at computer-based testing facilities throughout the U.S. and Canada.

  LLA Professional, taught by Dr. Susan Friedman Professor of Psychology, Utah State University,   is designed to provide the foundation for a comprehensive and coherent understanding of behavior analysis as it relates to facilitating the lives of captive and companion animals. The course covers: 1) The fundamental principles of learning and behavior. 2) A model for assessing the functional relationships between behavior and environmental conditions. 3) The teaching technology of applied behavior analysis and its ethical guidelines for implementation. 4) A systematic model for building behavior-change interventions. With this information, animal professionals will be able to better guide clients to proactively teach their animals successful captive and companion behaviors and effectively analyze and resolve behavior problems that inevitably arise.  

Personal Accomplishments


 My English Cocker, Sailor,  earned a Top Obedience Dog Award for 2011 from Dogs in Canada for placing first in points won by English Cocker Spaniels. · My Great Dane, Sookie, earned a Top Obedience Dog Award for 2012 from Dogs in Canada for placing first in points won by a Great Dane. Sookie  is the first Great Dane to receive a Draft Dog Title in Canada. Having passed the Draft Dog test twice, she is also the first Great Dane to have Draft Dog 2 in Canada · My Dogs have earned the following titles: 

  •  Companion Dog Excellent in Obedience, earning high in class and high in trial along the way 
  • Rally Excellent 
  • Tracking Dog  
  •  Draft Dog 
  •  Nose work 
  •  Canine Good Neighbor 

· I have had 3 dogs participate in the St. John Ambulance Therapy Dog program · Fostered many dogs for rescue organizations · Participated in  Sheep Herding clinics.
